Good Friday in Goa and mass in Goa
Good Friday is the day on which Christians across globe recalls the crucifixion or death day of Jesus Christ - it happened approx. 2000 years ago, and on this day (Good Friday) Goa's government announces as public holiday in Goa state and most probably this day is public holiday across India, this day is gazette holiday in India.
Maundy Thursday prior to Good Friday
Christians also observe Maundy Thursday and it is the fifth day of the holy week, as per the Bible, the last Thursday was the day Jesus Christ had the last supper with his 12 disciples. He washed their feet and asked them to clean each other's feet, since then, this ritual has become part of the mass, the next day saw Jesus Christ's crucifixion.
