As per source, the new immigration system includes tighter rules for students, restrictions on skilled professionals and new limits on the settlement of migrants who are already in England.

As per admin Forum, a campaign group taking up the cause of Indian and other non-EU migrants, on 5th April 2011 said the new restrictions on migrants already in Britain will cause considerable problems for Indian students and other professionals.

For those professionals Indian who already in UK may face some changes to their visa profile, it is including a higher level of perks necessary for their ongoing stay, and the condition that any application for resolution should be free of any convictions.

As per earlier rules, Indians and Non-European professionals eligible for rights and settlement when they used to complete a residency period and continued employed by their immigration sponsor in UK. However, from 6th April 2011, the UK government would anticipate them to meet an income requirement assigned to their particular job title by the Codes of Practice (for sponsored skilled workers) to qualify for the indefinite leave to remain eligible status.
