Anjuna Beach and Flea Market, Goa


Anjuna is a very small village in region North of Goa and Anjuna Beach is situated about 18 kms from Panaji the capital of Goa. Anjuna is popularly know as the freak capital of the world, whereas Anjuna Beach in Goa is one of the most crowded beaches of Goa since a lot of public visit this place.

Sightseeing at Anjuna


Mascarenhas Mansion : Mascarenhas Mansion located near the Anjuna Beach is a heritage monument with very style and classic balconies. The mansion has a L-shaped seat along the length of the porch which is of expensive wood. It also has some of the finest stained glass floral carvings.

Wednesday Flea Market


The famous Wednesday Flea Market is held every Wednesday, at around 11 a.m., and at this hour the area freezes and bursts into a colourful zone. Lot of tourists in large number start pouring into the beach for best purchases and best bargains or buys. Here things of your choice, from a used paperback to a haircut yo get it all here. The flea market at Anjuna is a heaven for hardcore shoppers and good bargainers, you can bid on wonderful artifacts of Tibet, Kashmiri and Gujarati trinkets and handicrafts, Also on offers are some of European snacks,artificial ornaments carvings and lot of crazy design T-shirts. Also if you are interested in an elephant ride then you can try it out here.

Party at Anjuna in true acid house party style


Anjuna is also known for its full-moon (acid house) parties. This party is held often by young tourist which attracts thousands of tourists from all around the world. The trance party with dance, fun and frolic goes all night beside the camp fire.

Excursions at Anjuna Beach


Close to the Anjuna are the Chapora Fort and the Albuquerque Mansion. To the east is a mountain which is worth visiting.

How to reach Anjuna


Road : There are buses every hour to Anjuna from Mapusa . For tourists arriving from Mumbai, Mapusa is the jumping-off point for the northern beaches.
Rail : The nearest railway station is at Karmali 11 km away from Panaji and 29 km from Anjuna.
Air : The nearest airport is at Dabolim, which is 29 km away from Panaji and 47 km from Anjuna.
