Statistical method in India:
The statistical organization in India at present is a fully urbanized one. The organization is well recognized both at the central and state level. There are many units at the centre for collecting the statistical data and their analysis. Similarly many units function at the state level for doing a similar job.
The central statistical organization was set up in the cabinet secretariat after independence in around 1950 with functions relating to the coordination of statistical wings at the centre and the states, advisory work relating to statistical matters, supply of national data to the United Nation and other International statistical organizations publication and graphical presentation of economic and social statistics etc.
The transfer of the National income unit from the Ministry of Finance has enlarged the activities of the central statistical organization. It is to ensure the effective coordinate between planning and statistical organizations of the Government; the C.S.O has been shifted in around 1970 to the Ministry of Planning.

The monthly theoretical of statistics provides monthly data on economic situation in the country under the different heads of economy. The data can be classifieds under the heads such as Population, Employment, National Product, Industry, Fuel and Power, Stocks and Consumption etc.
Monthly statistics of Production of selected industries in India which gives the statistics of production of selected industries of India covering as much as 400 items for all over India and around 75 heads/items by the state. It gives information relating to the installed capacity and production. Stock index number of production.
Statistical abstract which is an annual publication provide tables and comprehensive statistics relating to various sectors of national economy like agriculture, mining, banking, industry, trade, transport, labor, prices and employment etc.
National Accounts statistic gives detailed set of disaggregate tables on outputs, inputs and value added by industry, group, private consumption expenditure by object and capital formation by types for private, corporate and household sectors.
