Goa, anybody wish to have Goa on their Agenda for a holiday. Visitors from abroad and Indians seem to fit those few days in Goa into their tight schedule – not once, not twice but ever so often!

Anybody wish to have Goa on their Agenda for a holiday. Visitors from abroad and Indians seem to fit those few days in Goa into their tight schedule – not once, not twice but ever so often!
Why Goa different?
What makes Goa so magnetic? The sun, sand, surf and serenity? But these can be found in so many coastal areas worldwide. What is that extra pull that attracts visitors by the hordes to Goa?
Our trip to Goa
Recent past, we were housed in Sun Village hotels / resorts, a beautifully designed resort placed away in the Arpora Hills, Bardez, North Goa. The peaceful surroundings, the excellent buffet breakfast, and the slow pace of life were like a balm which soothes and calms. Added to this, we had the complementary pick up and drop to Baga beach everyday from the resort. We got very nice rooms, and swimming pool in the resort to enjoy all sunny days.
We hogged on the delicious lip-smacking local cuisine (so uniquely Goan) in very posh restaurants that dot the Goan beaches and at the very fashionable high street of Candolim.
We were like kids with our own kids when we were driven to the Miramar Beach for our dolphin watching expedition. How we squealed and clapped on seeing these graceful creatures enjoying for us in the early morning sun in the high seas.
We had tea on the beach after we got back, and we were enticed to buy beads and baubles for loved one back home, and collected sea shells with kids. We enjoyed traveling in Goa in all modes of transport, the long walks, the autos, the local buses, the taxis…
We have enjoyed the flea market on Saturday night! What a riot of color it was! The dinner, the babble of the locals selling their wares, from designer footwear, handbags, silver trinkets, and beautiful designer lampshades to yummy foods.
Panjim, the capital city, and the long stretch of Miramar beach left us asking for more, though it was a pity we could not enter the swimming pool near beach. We even fitted for “cruise” paradise trip in the evening where we enjoyed watching few location from the beach, and experienced a local purchasing on the way back home to Arpora. We of course, picked up different varieties of cashew nuts and its sweets to carry back home.
There are so many places to visit, different beaches, different cathedrals, different areas, different markets, different types of foods & hotels and different types of peoples etc.
Finally, why Goa is so different from other beach destination around the world? Goa are the Goans, with their love for the simple, good things of life and their innate hospitality – Special flavor. We will love to visit Goa again and again.
