Goa, 16 September 2010
Foreign and Indian tourists are attracted to visit Palolem beach and tourism season may be almost in Mid October to Mid January and a month away to be begun, but with the vanishing rains providing the right time, they are attracted per their own plan to visit.
Now, various tourists are seen landing at Palolem, they are coming by taxis or local buses to engage for accommodations. It seems that this year’s tourism will begin sooner than expected; several stalls are seen preparing themselves to meet the needs of the visitors.
Out of the many tourist taxis, which were off-the-road during the monsoon, few of them are seen from time to time back at the stands, especially at Palolem and Agonda seashores and are seen approaching visitors offering their services. Many coastal stalls, which had shut down their shutters at the end of last tourism season, are seen refreshing up, while some that are seen already open are doing enough business at Palolem.
Most of the open stalls at Palolem are however seen operated by Kashmiris and Lamani’s, while few restaurants too have come alive this month. It may be recalled that locals so-called that authorities allowed several temporary structures to stand tall despite its opposing claims. Same locals are now claiming that those structures without even awaiting for temporary permits have commenced their operations.
Goa State is already playing host to a large number of foreign tourists, as several motorcycle-borne overseas tourists are seen visiting the beach shores. Municipal source informed that no seasonal permit was issued to establish shops in the coastal areas, but unwillingly agreed that some shops were seen reopening to commence the new tourism season.
