    Agonda Beach Village

Posted Date: 19 Dec 2010      Author: Latha Jayaprakash    Member Level: Gold (Rs. 40)

Agonda Beach in the state of Goa, is a very isolated beach and comes when you detour from Palolem Beach. Agonda Beach is usually a day tour from either Palolem or Benaulim Beaches. This is a relatively unknown beach with very few facilities.

    Location of the Agonda Beach

It can be said that Agonda is an undiscovered paradise of Goa and it is also known as the Silent Beach of Goa.
Agonda is a small fishermen village at about 37 kilometers to the south of Madgaon and about 10 kilometers to the north of Chaudi. Agonda beach is known for its isolated location with a 3 kilometers stretch of sand fringed with swaying palm trees and casuarinas. There is a big hill on the south of the Beach. Due to the beach's isolated location there are very few facilities available here and that may attract some tourists who want isolation.

About The Agonda Beach Village in Goa

This is an ideal place to laze around and relax as there is no crowd at all even during the peak season times. The nature is at its best with a beautiful background of palms. This beach is located on the way to the Benaulimjust 6 kilometers away from the Palolem Beach.
The AgondaVillage is set amongst the lush green cover of about 120 acres of forest area and is a very sleepy sort of village. The life at the village is very easy and sedate compared to the other beach villages of Goa. The occupation of the villagers are workig in the green paddy fields, fishing and drying their catch and the goan fenny.
There is nothing else in this village except these but you can have all the freedom, privacy and nature which you cannot that easily get in Goa.

Cabo De Rama is the ruins of an ancient fort and that's where the beautiful church of Santo Antonio is located. The Fort also offers beautiful views of the sea from the Agonda Village. You can see many beautiful scenes of nature while climbing the hill and that itself will be a beautiful treat.

    How to Reach Agonda Beach

You can take a taxi from the margao / madgaon railway station or the airport. Chaudi is the nearest town and canacona railway station is the nearest but not all trains stop there.
Local buses ply from Chaudi and Canacona to Agonda throughout the day. A small walk for about one and a half kilometers will take you to the Agonda beach.

Accommodation facilities Goa Beach Huts at Agonda Beach

All these huts are eco friendly and are fully furnished with all the modern facilities like mosquito nets, fans, attached baths and a private sit out. Some of the huts are sea facing and some are garden facing.
