Benaulim Beach is located at about 2 kilometers from Colva Beach. This beach is not that popular with the tourists, only those who wish to see the arranged bull fights come to the beach. Otherwise it is a local favourite.

Benaulim Beach is located very close to Colva and it is a calm and serene small fishing village. You do not find many tourists here in this beach even though it is one of the popular fishing beaches in Goa. Benaulim Beach is the favourite haunt of the locals and hence gets crowded in the weekends when locals come pouring down the beach to play and enjoy spending time in th beach. You will find that the Benaulim beach gives you the best ambiance when complared to other beaches in Goa.

About Saint John Church at Benaulim Beach

There is a church Saint John perched atop a hill nearby. Saint John church is a magnificient looking church on top of the hill. Sao Joao is the feast of Saint John the Baptist and is celebrated in lots of merriment a little before the arrival of the monsoons. Young men walk down the street singing and collecting donations for the church. They will be wearing a crown of leaves and fruits and will parade down the streets during the feast time. It is believed that Saint John moved in his mother's womb when Holy Mother Mary visited his mother.

Activities at Benaulim Beach

Bullfights are also arranged in the evenings after 4 pm for the tourists who are ken tto watch them. This is the best beach to laze around and relax, even the food you order will come to the s[pot you are stationed in. One of their many assistants will bring the food to the place from the eating joints of the beach, making it perfect for napping and relaxing under the sun.

You can find the accommodation facilities very easily at the Benaulim Beach as there is a good line up of the hotels. Some provide luxury stay also with lots of amenities and facilities for the tourists. You can find good restaurants also for serving goan traditional cuisine as well.

How to Reach Benaulim Beach

The nearest airport is Dabolim which is 70 kilometers away from Benaulim. The nearest railway station is Karmali 41 kilometers away from the beach. you can get cabs and buses to come down to Benaulim directly, or you can go down to Colva first which is just 2 kilometers from Benaulim and then reach here.
You can hire a cab from the airport and the railway station direct to the hotel or the resort you have booked the room to and then ride to beach.
