Although Australia team set score 260/6 in 50 overs with the effort of skipper Ricky Ponting's brilliant century and it was hard for them to defend India team specially Indian's few batsmen.
Indian team with the team effort and sensible performance from almost all they had defeated defending world cup champion Australian team by chasing 261/5 with the brilliant and responsible half century from Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh, good partnership of Yuvi and Suresh Raina made safe win for India.
